Phase 1: Staff Alignment & Culture Building

Excellence for All: Collaborate to Compete (Professional Development)

Implementation begins with faculty, staff, and administrators. Through a one-day experiential professional development workshop, school teams build trust, strengthen communication, and align around shared values and expectations. This foundational phase supports:

  • Improved staff morale and cohesion
  • Clearer communication across roles and departments
  • Stronger alignment around school climate and student support priorities

Establishing a cohesive adult culture ensures that students experience consistent expectations and reinforces program sustainability.

Phase 2: Student Leadership & Skill Development

Power of Peace – Level 1 Workshops

Following staff alignment, Power of Peace is delivered to a diverse, representative group of students across grade levels. Through interactive, experiential workshops, students develop core social-emotional and leadership skills, including empathy, conflict resolution, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making. This phase:

  • Positively influences peer norms and behavior

  • Strengthens student engagement and sense of belonging

  • Supports safer, more inclusive learning environments

Workshops are scheduled in collaboration with school leadership to meet site-specific needs.

Phase 3: Peer Leadership & Capacity Building

Power of Peace – Level 2 Student Co-Facilitators

Students who complete Level 1 workshops are invited to return as peer co-facilitators in Level 2 sessions. This leadership pathway:

  • Reinforces positive behaviors through peer modeling

  • Builds student leadership and accountability

  • Expands program reach without additional strain on staff

Peer leadership helps embed program principles into daily school life.

Phase 4: Family & Community Reinforcement

Parent Engagement & Staff Follow-Up

To sustain momentum, Youth Voices Center offers optional parent sessions and follow-up staff trainings. These components:

  • Extend program values into homes and communities

  • Strengthen adult understanding of youth development

  • Reinforce consistent messaging across environments

Phase 5: Evaluation & Continuous Improvement

Ongoing feedback from students, educators, and administrators informs program refinement and demonstrates accountability. Schools receive insight into:

  • Student engagement and behavioral trends

  • Staff collaboration and climate indicators

  • Opportunities for continued growth and alignment

A Sustainable, School-Wide Approach

This phased rollout ensures that Power of Peace is not a one-time intervention, but a comprehensive, sustainable framework that builds leadership, strengthens relationships, and supports long-term school success.
